More Links to My Writing and My Genealogy

A few years ago, a very nice lady, Tay Austin, contacted me. She owns one of the finest Alzheimer's Caregiver sites on the web. In addition to a wealth of information for caregivers,  Alzheimer's Outreach   also contains medical information and links to other useful sites. Tay asked  to use some of my writing on her web site.  Soon after I agreed, she honored me by presenting my work beautifully, with both sound and pictures. These links will take you there... (Please know that the pictures on the site are not me!)

I have given permission for a variety of web sites to use my writing. Some of those can be viewed on the following links:

The exposure awarded me by these unnamed strangers who have chosen to use my writing on their web sites has been flattering and very rewarding. There is no greater thrill for me than to receive an e-mail from someone half a world away expressing gratitude that something in my words has touched them in some way or another.

I would also like to thank Dennis Yancey and refer you to his rapidly growing web site. It not only contains some of my work, but that of others. In addition, there is a variety of information and photographs about the small farming town of Aberdeen, Idaho - the very same Aberdeen that provides the core of my books. Please stop by and check it out, if you haven't already. It is fantastic and fun!

I have placed a large family file online. It is still a work in progress and undergoing constant correction and change, but it can be viewed. However, I do not intend to allow downloads until more of the file is corrected. That being said, feel free to take a peek at this link:

Enjoy these stand-alone short stories about a boy growing up in an Idaho farm town in mid-century. See how that town influenced its younger citizens and prepared them for life outside of its influence. Enjoy the humor, love, and attitude that could only have come from small-town America during an era that is no more. It was a time before animals had rights—before anything political was correct—and before thick skins became thin. It was a time of slide rules, hula-hoops, and church keys. It was a time when candy bars were big and the national debt was small. It was a time when first date, first kiss, and first time occurred on three different nights. Close your eyes and pick a story or read them in order. Jog your memory or make a new one. It doesn't matter. These stories will move you!

This is Aberdeen Stories : Growing Up Right In Small-town America .It is my first book, telling what it was like growing up in Aberdeen from birth through 8th grade. It can be purchased at several web sites including Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Target, and Walmart.

Watch him emerge onto the world stage after four long years of high school and a year of college! He was still unsure of himself, looking for romance, broke, unemployed and had no direction in life—no goals whatsoever!

This is  Aberdeen High Jinks. It is my second book about growing up in Aberdeen and covers my high school years and beyond, to the point where I leave that great little community for the last time.

"Ship Ahoy!" and "Bon Voyage!" Join the author as he takes you on a journey unlike any you may have imagined! See what U.S. Navy "boot camp" was really like! Feel the frustration and joy that comes with months of constant military training, or the fear that comes with wartime duties! Experience exotic ports of call as the author takes you to far corners of the planet—locations that most Americans can only imagine! See the world through the eyes of a sailor or perhaps just trigger lost memories from events in your own naval history. Let Beyond Aberdeen: A Bluejacket Diary tell you how a farm boy from Idaho gave up the life he knew for the promise of service, travel, and adventure as an electronics technician in the United States Navy! Watch as maturity, responsibility, and the legacy of a small town upbringing all work together to turn a boy into a man!

This is my fourth book, and the third of the "Aberdeen" series. While it is true that Aberdeen itself has but a small "active" part in this book, I cannot help but think that the course of events contained within these pages were influenced by my upbringing in that wonderful little farming community that was and always will be - my home town.
